Cupitt’s were successful at the the 2018 IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards held on Friday 19th October at WIN Entertainment Centre.
Cupitt’s took out the prize for Excellence in Tourism and was a finalist in the Excellence in Sustainability category. We are proud to be recognised for our role in our region’s tourism industry and to bring home a trophy to the Shoalhaven.
Customer Experience Manager Libby Cupitt said in her acceptance speech ‘It is fantastic to win the Tourism Award. It belongs to our team who invoke the true meaning of hospitality providing visitors with a terrific and unique experience. We are so fortunate to work alongside so many hardworking and passionate individuals and in such a beautiful part of the world. A huge thank you has to go to our team of Chefs, who tirelessly create beautiful dishes every season and our front of house team who love to look after our guests so well. Our team always bring enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity to everything they do and we are very grateful to them.’
The theme of the night was A Parisian Soirée. The Entertainment Centre was transformed into a Parisian streetscape for a very sophisticated soirée.
The 660 guests were treated to a three course French inspired menu designed by acclaimed chefs from iconic local eateries, including Caveau, Cupitt’s Winery and Stones Patisserie. Cupitt’s Head Chef Russell Chinn designed the main course which was another highlight of the evening.
Russell’s French inspired menu was Roasted rump of lamb, spring vegetables with white wine and thyme jus and Pan fried Barramundi fillet with Eden mussels and grenobloise sauce.
It was great to be a part of the Illawarra Business Awards this year, a first for Cupitt’s. The reputation of the Illawarra Business Awards is of such a high standard in the business community so it means a lot to be recognised in a group of businesses who continue to innovate and strive for excellence. We look forward to being a part again in 2019.
