Winery

The wines made at Cupitt’s have a very strong old world quality with the winemaking influenced by traditional French and Italian methods. A focus is made on creating wines with structure, complexity, and intensity which respect their varietal characters and directly represent the region in which they are grown.

The Cupitt Family craft their wines from Estate Grown grapes along with grapes sourced from the regions of Hilltops, Tumbarumba, Southern Highlands and Canberra District in NSW.

Rosie Cupitt has passed on the winemaking duties to her sons Wally and Tom, both of whom have had vintage experience in France and Australia. The boys continue Rosie’s passion for making wines of character, complexity, purity, and intensity using minimal interference wine making influenced heavily by traditional French and Italian methods. An emphasis is made on sourcing fruit from premium cool climate vineyards, and respecting the varietal and regional characteristics of the grapes.

James Halliday – Dark Horse and 5 Star Rating Awarded 2018

“Cupitt’s Winery has been knocking on the door of a five-star rating for a number of years and blew it wide open for this edition of the Wine Companion. The tourist mecca of the southern NSW coast around Ulladulla is both blessing and bane. It’s not a natural region for high-quality grapes, nor a magnet for wine tourists. The Cupitt family, led by winemaker Rosie, has walked around the problem by buying grapes from regions as far as the Yarra Valley. The result is that the quality of the wines and the modesty of the prices is as commendable as it is unusual.”
