Qantas Travel Insider: Cupitt’s Winery & Restaurant4 December 2009

South Coast wines are gaining recognition and, as every good weekend wine warrior knows, it isn’t a wine region without a good winery restaurant. Cupitt’s certainly cuts the mustard in its aspect, set among the vines and overlooking dairy pastures and wetlands. The food is right up there, too. Stake out some turf on the timber deck and carve your way through a nice juicy double-cutlet of lamb paired with a hunk of fork-tender braised lamb neck, green beans, white onion puree and slivers of salty black olive. There’s also elegance in dessert: pannacotta layered with fragrant fresh strawberry jelly.
Open: lunch Wed-Sun, dinner Fri-Sat. Licensed. Mains $29-$34.
