Melbourne Cup at Cupitts

Great result for the Cancer Outpatients Appeal Annual Melbourne Cup Fundraiser.

Each year the Cancer Outpatients Appeal holds a fundraiser at Cupitt’s for Melbourne Cup, with 118 attendees enjoying great food, wine and good times, but importantly raising money for the local Cancer Centre.

This year there was plenty of support for the sweeps, mystery bets and raffles with the main event being the auction run by Lisa Cox and a Fashion Parade run by Sarah Gabrielle Boutique

The lunch raised over $7,500  for the COA and will assist immensely in purchasing vital equipment for the Centre.

Peter Still President of the Cancer Outpatients Appeal Milton Ulladulla Inc, said “Once again I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and surely by raising this wonderful amount of $7500.00 to support the Cancer care in this area a message must be sent to our elected representatives that we, as a community care about health care in the area and particularly our Hospital. A special thanks to the community and Cupitt’s for continuing support.’

The guests all loved getting dressed up, with Fashion Prizes for best dressed. Great music from the Jazz Barry Trio was enjoyed by all.

The Cancer Outpatients Appeal of Milton Ulladulla Inc. was formed in 2003 to raise funds to build and equip a cancer service centre adjacent to Milton Ulladulla Hospital to meet the growing needs of cancer patients, their families and carers in the Southern Shoalhaven.

The Cancer Outpatients Appeal is run entirely by a dedicated team of community volunteers who have been with the Appeal since its inception. They use their specialist and professional skills and personal amenities to maximise the value of every donated dollar which is invested back into funding and support for the Cancer Services Centre, its staff, volunteers, patients and carers in the southern Shoalhaven community.

The Appeal acknowledges its contribution to the development of local cancer services is reliant upon the generous donations provided by our community.
