It’s the Final Countdown! How to Enjoy the final weeks of Winter7 August 2019 – posted in: Winery, Craft Ales, Restaurant, Uncategorized
Spring is coming but before we dive into this wonderful season let’s enjoy the final moments of Winter. Here is our list of ways to enjoy these end of winter weeks before we see those first blooms:
Plan a weekend getaway on the South Coast
The South Coast is the perfect Winter getaway. You really see our coastal towns in a whole new way than the Summer months if you explore in Winter. Not only is the surf up but the whales are out and there are plenty of great offers available.
Check out the Bannisters Winter Warmer Package, or the Wonderful Winter Getaway deal from HarbourView Apartments in Ulladulla.
Plan Something Special each week:
Planning a dinner or activity with friends, or even finding events to attend is really important. This gives you something to look forward to during the cooler months. Try a recipe you have not cooked before and find a recommended wine to pair with it to really take it to the next level. Invite around your mates and enjoy the good things in life – food, wine and laughter.
Hate cooking? Book into a restaurant and let them do all the work for you. Planning meals with friends and family give us all something to look forward to and connect in a different way especially when we are busy with work and life.
Go for a walk along the beach:
Now is an awesome time to go to the beach. There is plenty of marine life in the water and setting time aside for yourself to have a brisk walk along the beach will get your endorphins going. Sunrise has been particularly special this Winter on the beach. Our favourite picks are Narrawallee and Mollymook Beach.
Find the Sunny Spot:
There is something wonderful about finding a sunny and warm spot to bath in during Winter. Whether it is at home, on the beach or at your favourite winery; Winter is the perfect time to enjoy the sunshine without fearing the sun damage (NB: Hats and sunscreen recommended).
Try Something New:
Cupitt Craft Brewers have been very busy creating a range of Winter Beers. These dark beer are more suitable to the cooler months and include dark ales, wine/beer hybrids, oyster stout and barrel-aged beers. Check out the list of delicious seasonal beers here. Better yet visit the Cellar Door or online store and pick up a few to try!
Learn how to Shake like a Pro:
Cupitt’s Cocktail making Masterclasses are a fun and interactive workshop with our cocktail Guru Anthony. Sip on bubbles while Anthony takes you step by step through the art of cocktail making – drinking your creations along the way. You’ll learn how to create classic cocktails, make different syrups and how to infuse base spirits with these botanicals to take your cocktails to a new level. Buy for yourself or a gift for someone else. Tickets cost $60 per person. The next class is 24 August at 6pm.
