Gourmet Traveller Cover Star and Star Cellar Door of the Region27 March 2018 – posted in: Winery

The country’s leading wine writers have scoured every region in search of star wineries, top tasting experiences and places that serve first-class food, and here they are – Gourmet Traveller WINE’s Best Cellar Door Awards.
THE REVIEW
The inspirational force behind this intelligently integrated enterprise is dynamo Rosie Cupitt. A trained horticulturalist originally from Bowral, Cupitt reskilled with a Charles Sturt University oenology course and established a boutique vineyard in Shoalhaven.
Located in an old sandstone creamery dating back to 1851, the Cupitt’s cellar door is a regional showpiece. The adjacent Cupitt’s Kitchen has been built in sympathy with the winery facilities installed in the cool underground cellar below. A microbrewery and fromagerie complete the holistic showpiece. Enjoy a ploughman’s platter, olives, dips and breads at the cellar door or a delicious meal at Cupitt’s Kitchen made from local seafood and the Cupitt family’s own Angus beef.
Live music on Sundays and weekend pizzas add to the child-friendly nature of this exceptional outfit. On a bright summer’s day, this is the place to be, and the Cupitt’s wines are more than worthy, too. PETER BOURNE
OUTSTANDING WINE: 2017 Cupitt Mia Bella Arneis, A$28
