Have an adventure holiday to remember on the NSW South Coast

Easter Eggs are everywhere, hot cross buns are an extra constant temptation and we’ve all started day dreaming about our next getaway. It may be coming to the end of summer but that doesn’t mean that escaping to a seaside town is no longer on the cards. In fact, Easter is the perfect time to escape to the South Coast with your family.

Milton, Ulladulla, Mollymook and the surrounding areas offer so much for families all year round. With its natural beauty, abundant space and a wonderful array of kid-friendly activities, the region is a popular destination for parents planning a getaway for school holidays.

This article in particular looks at things you can do to get outside & be in nature, but there are also so many local offerings to keep the kids entertained too. Just check out Shoalhaven tourism for all the info!

Well, you can’t head out on an adventure without a full belly!

If you need a beautiful, nourishing & delicious feed with your family, you simply can’t go past having a meal on our lawn, followed by some down hill tumbling on the grass (not just something for the kids). Our outdoor dining menu is perfect for families. Let the kids pick at our delicious pizzas all afternoon while you graze on a house-made cheese board, some whey fried chicken or cauliflower. Check out our full casual dining menu here

If you’re after a dining experience with something extra, you can’t go past our 4-Course Tasting Menu in our restaurant. For $85 per adult, you’ll go on a journey of incredible dishes to share from a menu that is reinvented regularly based on what we harvest from our own on-site garden. Don’t let the fact that your kids are with you on holiday stop you from experiencing this one. We have a kids menu available including house made garlic bread, pizza, fried chicken or fish & chips PLUS ice cream to finish.

If you’re visiting the Shoalhaven region these school holidays, make sure you add an afternoon at Cupitt’s Estate on your to do list – we promise you’ll have an incredible back drop to create gorgeous new memories with your family, whether you prefer to dine outside or in our restaurant.

Now that you’re full of food – where to next?!

Get Out On The Water

A trip to the south coast isn’t complete without some fun in water. Regardless of your level of previous experience, there are so many local businesses that are ready to help introduce you to water sports, or help you improve on what you already know!

Regardless of the age of your children there truly is something for everyone available. Why not give Stand Up Paddle boarding a crack, and if you enjoy it, there are so many places to check out and explore. Of course, there are surfing lessons for all levels too, or if you’re after something a bit more serene, why not go on a kayak tour or pedal boat on the water.

Check out Walking On Water (or WOW Watersports) for some inspiration and book your activities now.

Narrawallee Inlet

If you venture a little further north from Mollymook, you’ll come across a local’s favourite spot, and it won’t take you long to understand why it’s such a hit!

Narrawallee Inlet is the perfect place to let the kids run free on the awesome playground equipment while you grab a coffee from the corner café. Narrawallee is a truly stunning part of the South Coast, and the inlet is perfect for paddle boarding and other water activites. There is also a great picnic area with tables and a BBQ, so set yourself up for a full day of fun – it doesn’t get any better than a day full of backyard cricket or soccer with the family by the water, only stopping for a BBQ or dip in the ocean!

A day out in the sun doing activities is always best finished with some gelato, so make sure you stop by Bannisters Pavilion in Mollymook before you head home for an extra sweet icy treat.

If you’re after some dinner instead, Fish & Chips is the classic go-to for all families on the South Coast. Local favourite spots include Mollymook Beach Hut, and if you’re feeling a bit adventurous definitely head further south to Burrill Lake to explore some more of the region. Grab some fried fillets & chippies and sit by the ocean for a casual and memorable dinner.

Ulladulla Fossil Walk

Ulladulla Harbour is home to some world-class fossils, and there is something special about taking your kids around to explore and see what pieces of history you can find.

There is a Guided Fossil Walk on Ulladulla Harbour’s Rock Platforms that offers a look back in time 270,000,000 years!

The walk is operated by a not-for-profit association of local volunteers Gondwana Coast Fossil Walk Incorporated. It takes roughly 2 hours to complete and you’ll get a hands on experience understanding the landscape and the story it tells.

Check out their website & book your tour here

No Sunshine? No Worries!

There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy even if it’s raining. Funland Ulladulla  is the arcade that will bring back memories of your own childhood. It’s filled with dodgem cars, arcade games, laser tag & more. Perfect for big & little ones, and of course top of mind when the weather isn’t great.

Our local libraries also have incredible offerings running all school holidays. Just google Shoalhaven Library School Holidays to find your local library and see what they’ve got on offer. With activities like Coding Classes, story time & more, your kids will mingle with other families on holidays and learn something new – it’s a win win!

We’ve only just scratched the surface here on what you can do with your family when visiting our stunning part of the world, we can’t wait to welcome you here these Easter School holidays and look forward to hearing about what you get up to on your visit!
