About the Artist
Meagan Jacobs is a visual artist who likes to do things a bit differently.
Meagan Jacobs paints abstract landscapes, inspired by the surrounding beauty of the Milton Ulladulla South Coast Region. From tidal rock pools to burnt out bush land the beauty of the natural environment with its fragility and transience, has become a significant part of Meagans continuing artistic journey, providing a wealth of inspiration!
Inspiration for Meagan comes from the fragility and transience of the natural environment. Taking time to absorb the ‘feel’ of a landscape, her work reflects a very personal view. Textured dream like landscapes lay suspended between reality and an imagined place, inviting the viewer on an enchanted journey.
In 2012 Meagan released her first stop motion animated short film ‘Unearth’. Providing an experience that transcends just the simple story telling aspect, Meagan’s interest lays in producing creative, entertaining short films infused with positive environmental messages.
From little things big things grow, so they say. ‘Unearth’ has gone on to be shown at the Broken Hill Solar Film Festival, Escape Shoalhaven Art Fest, Peats Ridge Art & Music festival as part of their eco living program and more recently the Percolator Gallery Paddington as part of the biodiversity dialogues event.
