Cupitt’s Pivot Again – Weekend Takeaway Menu & Bakery26 May 2020 – posted in: Restaurant

There are lots of exciting changes coming up at Cupitt’s Estate. We wanted to walk you through the changes including the Weekend Takeaway Menu, High Tea Hampers, Grazing Platters, Restaurant Dining, new delivery information and Cheese & Wine Tasting Experience. 

The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown Australia’s hospitality industry into disarray. The scene here on the South Coast has had the double whammy following a disruptive Summer due to the bushfire crisis. Many of the South Coast restaurants have reinvented their offerings to keep their head above water. Cupitt’s Estate is no exception. However, these situations can force you to rethink what you are able to offer your customers and come up with new and exciting ideas.

Our offering over the past few months has included Produce Boxes, Meal Kits, Chef-prepared Frozen Meals, Self-Isolation Beer and Wine Packs, High Tea Boxes and the delivery of our products to our greater local region. We have been overwhelmed by the support of our local and online communities. Now with the easing of the regulations, it is once again, time for us to ‘pivot’ (the most overused word of the pandemic) what we are able to offer at Cupitt’s Estate. 

Cupitt’s Estate will open for up to 50 patrons per sitting from the 3rd of June, serving the Cupitt’s Tasting Menu. We have never been one for rules, but these times have called for a few changes and so we have detailed this on our Frequently Asked Questions page. Hopefully, it will not be long until we can host long leisurely seatings again, but in the name of survival and compliance, we have needed to make some changes.  

We are excited to announce we are also trialling our new Cupitt’s Takeaway Menu available on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm (Pre-order HERE). It’s for those that aren’t able to dine with us yet but would love to have something delicious from Cupitt’s Estate. We are excited to offer something quite different from the restaurant tasting menu, with it resembling more of our casual offering including pizzas, grazing platters and ‘CFC’ Cupitt’s Fried Chicken. We’re also excited to be able to highlight plenty of our fresh garden produce that we’ve been continuing to grow throughout the lockdown period. The garden is heaving with goodies! We will also have a sweet offering of High Tea available for pre-order. 

As we progress to the next phase of recovery, we have made changes to our delivery schedule. It has brought us great joy to deliver Cupitt’s Estate wine, beer, cheese and meals to the greater community. However, our energy and focus need to now be on-site, and we are no longer delivering to the beautiful areas of Kioloa, Bawley Point, Pointer Mountain, Lake Tabourie, Lake Conjola, Fishermans Paradise, Bendalong, Manyana, Sussex Inlet or Berrara. We do hope that you continue to enjoy our products and visit the shop or arrange a Click and Collect pick up. We are very grateful for your ongoing support.  

For now, we will continue our weekly delivery to the areas of Milton, Ulladulla, Mollymook, Narrawallee, Burrill Lake, Kings Point, and Dolphin Point. Order by 10am on Fridays to receive that day. 

We have just received news that wine tasting can commence again from 1 June.  For the June Long Weekend, we are offering a Cupitt Cheese and Wine Experience. This must be booked in advanced. The shop is open for takeaway sales (no wine tasting). Wine tasting appointments will be available on days outside of the Long Weekend. 

We are very grateful to our team and to all our supporters who have been with us on this rollercoaster. We hope we can welcome you back to Cupitt’s Estate soon when the time is right for you. The word ‘Restaurant’ derives from the French verb restaurer, meaning to restore or refresh; we feel we could all use a little of that right now.
