Caramel Popcorn Recipe14 August 2020 – posted in: Restaurant, Recipes


¼ cup Vegetable Oil
½ cup popping corn
125g butter
¾ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons honey
Pinch of salt


1 cup roughly chopped nuts of choice
Extra salt to taste


STEP 1: Add vegetable oil to a large pot on high heat (have your lid handy as you’ll need it for the next step)

STEP 2:Once hot add kernels with lid, reduce to low heat until popped

STEP 3: Add sugar, butter, honey and salt until in a large pot on low until all sugar has dissolved and it’s a light caramel colour

STEP 4: Once reduced, add popcorn to the pot of caramel, lightly stirring through. If the caramel is a bit overdone and too sticky (you’re only human) perhaps pour the caramel over your popcorn instead.

STEP 5: Add nuts & salt to taste

STEP 6: Wait until the popcorn has cooled and is set – enjoy!

If you want to make bulk for snacks, make sure you keep it in an air tight container. The popcorn won’t stay fresh for long, but you’ll probably eat it before then anyway!
