An exciting job opportunity exists for a motivated person to join the small and passionate team at Cupitt’s Fromagerie on the South Coast of NSW.

The successful applicant will be a trained cheesemaker and must enjoy working with people and developing good customer relations, but most importantly be passionate about cheese. It is a full time position and ongoing training will be provided.

We are a small boutique operation but there will be opportunities for the successful applicant to grow with the business.

If you are someone who likes a challenge, is eager to learn, has a positive attitude and could see themselves thriving in a dynamic, artisan produce business then we would love for you to apply.

Reporting to the Chief Cheesemaker, the successful applicant will have at experience in operating cheese plant and key processing equipment such as milk pasteurisers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing new products for our company to meet our existing and future demands.
  • Scheduling of production and maintaining suitable stock levels.
  • Work with the Chief Cheesemaker to maintain the production and HACCP plan.
  • Assist with developing educational and training programs to train other staff
  • Improve efficiencies in the cheese room
  • Develop production schedules and plans for cheese making operation.
  • Meet KPI’s for yield, wastage, labour, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and document information to ensure compliance with Standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work in independently and in a team environment and demonstrate decision making and initiative within agreed parameters.
  • Have good knowledge of hygiene procedure, machine operation and problem solving skills.
  • Is organised, methodical and can prioritise to ensure specific goals are achieved.
 

About the Cupitt Fromagerie

Cupitt Fromagerie was established in 2015 with Chief Cheesemaker Rosie Cupitt producing both Goats and Cows milk cheeses in a European style. Our cheeses are all made and matured using traditional techniques and are very much inspired by Rosie’s travels and training throughout the great cheese producing regions in France and Italy. They are the cheeses she loves to make and eat!
